Favorite quote: “Aim for the bushes”

What is something [people in your industry/niche] have to deal with that you want to fix?

The idea that all car dealers are deceptive and try to squeeze out every penny from their customers - the industry has changed so much over the years and with all the information available to consumers, dealerships have adapted and changed their focus on to providing an excellent customer experience

What do you do at AMG?

I just started as an Automotive Marketing Director - my role is to be the dealership's resource for all things marketing and be their bridge between the dealership and their vendors. Good and effective marketing takes time and effort and it’s an unfair burden placed on many dealership managers and I’m here to develop strategies and facilitate execution so the managers can focus on what they need to - their customers and employees.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with a focus in advertising from Champlain College (GO BEAVERS!) and earned an MBA in Internet Marketing from SNHU. Before accepting the role here at AMG, I was the Digital Marketing Specialist for 8.5 years at a dealership group back when digital was brand new and Twitter was all the rage. It was very exciting being a part of something so new and carving out our group’s place in the digital landscape and watching in real time how digital marketing and the informed consumer changed the game. While in that role, I was offered a Marketing Director position with a different group and spent just over 5 years there in that position and as a CRM Manager. I’m coming up on 14 years in Automotive Marketing and am thrilled to join this team.

What do you like about working at AMG?

It has been such a shift from the dealership side and working in small departments or even as a department of one to working for a remote vendor partner. Everyone at AMG is genuinely interested in your success, kind, thoughtful, intelligent, and just a great crew overall. AMG is also a new company that was designed to have remote employees and embrace new technology - It’s a night and day difference from pushing digital solutions into an established industry and business such to working for leadership that is forward thinking and embraces change; that has an understanding that it’s adapt or fail when it comes to embracing what’s next.

What are the values that drive you?

I am a big golden rule person and was thrilled when I found out that it is one of AMG’s core values. It’s not only “treat others the way you want to be treated,” but for me, it’s a “if roles were reversed, how would I want me to act or behave” or “if I was in their situation, what would I want to happen?” and that truly guides my everyday life. If it doesn’t make anyone’s life harder, doesn’t do any harm, doesn’t change my intention or misrepresent who I am - then why the heck not, right?

What would be your dream vacation?

HOBBITON.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I really, really enjoy playing softball when the weather permits. When it doesn’t I’ll play indoor tournaments and/or travel to locations without negative windchills or blizzards, or I’ll stick to just playing volleyball. This is my 11th year of playing softball as an adult and over the past couple years, I’ve averaged 8 leagues, 5 tournaments, and 130 games played each year - which can be perceived as excessive to some. I grew up playing and am so very happy to have found my passion for it again as an adult - it has given me the best friends I could have hoped for and ultimately led me to working here at AMG.
