A Day in the Life of a Marketing Coordinator

By: Kristen C., Marketing Coordinator

Ever wonder what “a day in the life” of a marketing coordinator looks like at Automotive Marketing Gurus (AMG)? At AMG, we have four marketing coordinators: Kristen Connell, Alysia Martinez, Rosemary Quintero, and Alexa Lenahan. The goal of this month’s blog is to give you a little more insight into what these ladies do for not only AMG, but you and your dealership as well.

Our marketing coordinator's primary focus is vendor collaboration. They work closely with vendors for each dealership to ensure all tasks are being completed on time and accurately. This is where partner alignment boards come into action. The marketing coordinators confirm all active monthly services, add them to the partner alignment board, assign vendors to each service, provide a launch date and receive data and recommendations. This allows them to connect with vendors, within our MOJO platform, to help you and your dealership succeed. They also participate in the action communications you receive each month. They analyze inventory, pricing, google and bing listings, social media listings, and the website for accurate information and connect with vendors on recommendations and critiques. Alexa, our newest marketing coordinator, quickly jumped into the role with these same tasks. “I have really enjoyed working for AMG. As a newer employee, the onboarding process has been more than great and the work environment is a breath of fresh air,” stated Alexa.

Following data retrieval each month from vendors, our marketing coordinators are able to pull data from the CRM and perform matchbacks to verify the number of sales credited to a specific vendor. “Matchbacks are a great way for dealers to evaluate the effectiveness of any given campaign with a vendor and to make sure their message is getting heard by their customers,” stated Rosemary. There are times when vendors claim the numbers of leads and sales they provide you with, but a matchback allows us to verify that and ensure you are getting the biggest bang for your buck!

When we asked the marketing coordinators why they like their roles so much they all stated three things: dealer facing, the great work/life balance, and the great support system. While you may not meet directly with your designated marketing coordinator, they are all working “behind the scenes” to complete any tasks you request. They love being directly involved with the dealers and seeing their efforts help you and contribute to your dealership’s success. At AMG, we are very big on a healthy work/life balance. We structure our weeks on a 4-day work week allowing our employees to enjoy a 3-day weekend, assuming all tasks are completed. We also encourage them to take time off for themselves. Our marketing coordinators are wives, mothers, enrolled in school, etc. and we believe this balance allows them to excel in both their personal and professional lives. “Working at AMG has made me excited to be back in the auto space. It feels good to go to work with people who genuinely want to make a positive impact in the industry,” stated Alysia. In the wise words of our CEO, Jonathan Thompson, “if you aren’t learning, you aren’t growing!” We assign marketing coordinators to a single marketing director so they can work closely together to gain experience and understand the industry better.

Our marketing coordinators are key players in the success of AMG and your dealership. They work closely with our marketing directors to complete all assigned tasks and ensure you are seeing the best possible results from your vendors. If you have any questions or are interested in being a part of the AMG team, please reach out.
